Ape collection in the Regional Landscape Park Feldman Ecopark is one of the biggest in Eastern Europe. It comprises more than 200 monkeys of 30 types.
The feature of the Regional Landscape Park’s ape collection is not only in its size. Here each inhabitant lives in the conditions as close as possible to natural. Therefore, no wonder that the monkeys give posteriors more often than other Ecopark’s animals. In 2016 lemurs and squirrel monkeys, Japanese macaques and hussar monkeys, hamadryads, mandrills and magots got kids.
FAMILY
One of favourites, especially among a female part of the park’s guests — magots Grisha and Dasha. The matter is that it’s not common for male apes to find time for nurture. Grisha, contrary to stereotypes, behaves as the exemplary father. He constantly watches children, plays with them. Hearts of women melt when they see how Grisha touchingly cares for kids.
GRATEFUL
If young mothers aren’t able to look after newborns — such cases, unfortunately, are fixed quite often among the animals that grew out of the native habitat — the experienced veterinary team which has successfully nursed a lot of ape cubs of different breeds is always ready to come to the rescue.
AMICABLE
Kids, care of who was undertaken by the Ecopark’s employees live as a real monkey kindergarten. Distinctions in sizes, behavior and interests don’t influence them in such an early age; the children amusedly play together and never quarrel seriously.
SERIOUS
The diadem monkey Potap is a real show-making lover. The big idler and ruffian is always organized and diligent by the meal time: fun is fun, but lunch according to the schedule!
ROMANTIC
The couple of inseparable chimpanzees Mickey and Judy have directly opposed tempers. Mickey is the obvious leader, the persistent fighter for justice and the passionate proponent of his girlfriend. Judy — more gentle nature, likes to sunbathe in warm season, to draw pictures and to play a ball. Quite often explosive tempered Mickey calms down at the sight of his charming girlfriend and with pleasure sets to work which Judy likes. Both monkeys are four years old. They are masters of festive atmosphere. For example, they can decorate a Christmas tree. There is one more habit which unites Mickey and Judy — both of them are food lovers. The couple’s favorite delicacies are rambutan and squeezed fruit juices.
INTELLECTUALS
When the elections of the mayor were held in Feldman Ecopark, the ape candidate managed to bypass all competitors. Chita — a very clever and full of own advantage chimpanzee subdued the voters. She can wash hands, launder, and sets to help employees while cleaning the enclosure. Chita leads a sports life. By the way, the Ecopark’s elections are the most honest and democratic. The application neither from voters, nor from candidates has been registered. The observers haven’t also noticed any violations during vote. The monkey Chita, in turn, with honor fulfills the assigned duties: in the territory of a multicomplex is always clean and tidy, all animals are fed.
HUMANE
Maya, the crested mangabey was considered very aggressive and unfriendly at first. Even other mangabeys were afraid of her. But one day while moving to the new enclosure Maya wasn’t put in a portable cage. She was led on the leash. To everyone’s surprise the monkey with pleasure, just like a dog, has followed the employees. Since then Maya completely changed — she became appeasable, enjoys walking round the Ecopark, and with pleasure contacts with visitors.
NAUGHTY
Pig-tailed macaques – Pepsik and Cola. They need thorough watch or care. In spite of the fact that they both are already four years old, these monkeys act like children: there is no bigger pleasure for them, than to borrow a cap or glasses from the person. So the surprise from cheerful squabblers can wait for those guests who, despite warnings try to thrust the camera or phone directly into the enclosure in order to receive a good shot.
