The gallery AVEC is the largest non-governmental art-area in Eastern Ukraine.
The project was created in 2000. During 15 years of continuous work, the gallery has not changed the original idea: to introduce works of art of different epochs and nations to the residents and guests of Kharkiv, to educate the youth in the spirit of tolerance and patriotism as well as support both young and mature talented artists.
Visitors of the gallery had free access to observing exhibitions of works of Ukrainian and international artists and photographers, exhibits of ‘The Feldman Family Museum’ museum project, concerts and other events, held together with cultural organisations. According to preliminary estimate, more than 200 exhibitions have been held during the time the project exists. 3 million residents of Kharkiv and city guests visited them.
An important component of the art centre activity is the educational function. Tours, workshops and other educational events are common for the gallery AVEC. In addition, the project keeps pace with time, and therefore, art and technology harmoniously coexist here.
The exhibition area uses the world’s best practice, complementing the exposition with new technologies, in particular video classes. With the help of special equipment in the hall, visitors may become aware of additional facts about the current exhibition in a convenient and non-intrusive way.
‘Feldman Family Museum’ is private collections of Oleksandr Feldman, gathered in non-governmental museum. Its history dated back to 2000. When creating the project, Oleksandr Feldman was guided by the idea of openness of private collections. He believed that immortal works of art should not gather dust under the lock of private owners, but educate and develop the aesthetic taste of the nation.
Thus, private collections of the MP have grown to the scale of a pre-museum project -‘The Feldman Collection’. Later, the collections of legendary objects formed a full museum, and the project achieved the status of a private institution- ‘The Feldman Family Museum’ by 2012.
TODAY THE MUSEUM IS ALWAYS OPEN FOR CURIOUS MINDS, WHO ARE WILLING TO HAVE A LOOK AT THE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF THE WORLD. IN ADDITION, ‘FELDMAN FAMILY MUSEUM’ PROVIDES CONSIDERABLE SUPPORT TO STATE MUSEUMS BY ENLARGING THEIR COLLECTIONS WITH NEW UKRAINIAN EXHIBITS AND UPDATING THEIR MATERIAL AND TECHNICAL BASE.
Now the exposition of the Museum amounts to more than 2.6 million exhibits representing the history of the West and East. According to experts, works of artists of the School of Paris, Japanese miniature works of plastic art (okimono and netsuke), Indian jewellery, East cold weapon and sea shells are of great value in terms of science and culture.
‘Feldman Family Museum’ numbers about 40 exhibitions in Kharkiv and beyond, where valuable collections of Oleksandr Feldman have been exhibited.
