The International Charitable Foundation “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation,” Concern AVEC and Co. PJSC together with the AES Group rendered financial assistance to the football club “Metallist 1925.” This assistance is allocated for the needs of the football team, in particular it is aimed at the organization of the trips of the athletes to summer and winter trainings.
“Not so long ago, Metallist disappeared from the football map for absolutely non-football reasons. The guys had to start from the very beginning. It took only two years for them to make their way from an amateur team to the bronze medals in the Second League of Ukrainian professional football. In order to move forward and not just to return to the football elite, but also, like it has been before, to represent a serious competitor for the leader and represent Ukraine in European cups, it is necessary to move to the new level. Including in the issue of funding,” the founder of the charitable foundation, the founder and the honorary president of the Concern AVEC and Co. The patron also urged everyone to join the initiative and revive football in Kharkiv together. “While the athletes experience one of the most difficult periods, it is just our duty to help our favourite club. Today, we made everything possible for the summer and winter trainings to be arranged at the appropriate level. We will continue supporting the team in the future. And I call on everyone to join!” he noted.
It should be reminded that Kharkiv’s Metallist won a silver and seven bronze medals in Ukrainian football championship, it won the Soviet Cup in 1988, was a finalist of the Ukrainian Cup in 1992, a quarterfinalist of the UEFA Europa League in 2011-2012. After the season 2015-2016, the club lost its professional status due to the debts of the club’s president Serhii Kurchenko. The same year, Metallist 1925 was established. It won the second place in the Amateur League in the season 2016-2017 and the second place in the Ukrainian championship among the teams of the Second League in Group B in the season 2017-2018
