Oleksandr Feldman Foundation launches project aimed at region’s tourism appeal strengthening

The International Charitable Foundation “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation” has launched the new project “The Gems of Kharkiv Region” aimed at strengthening the tourism appeal of the region. Its purpose is to attract the attention to the architectural and historical sites of Kharkiv and Kharkiv oblast, which are able to become a hallmark of the region and to favour the popularization of its tourist branch.

“Kharkiv is the city of striking beauty, we have a lot of things to boast of both in the city and in the region. I am talking about monuments, parks, old buildings and beauties of nature, as well as the achievements in various fields. We must attract tourists from all over Ukraine, and from the near and far abroad. But this is the work not only for charitable foundations, it is the work for the authorities, because the domestic tourism provides additional opportunities to replenish budget,” Oleksandr Feldman, the foundation’s founder and Ukrainian MP emphasized. “I think Kharkiv is the city, where the influx of tourists is guaranteed. They will come and remain very satisfied with both welcome and impressions. It is worthy of the great number of visitors as much as Lviv, Kyiv and the other renowned tourist centres.”

The specialists note that the development of tourism is especially important for Kharkiv oblast, because thanks to this field, it is possible to improve the social and economic situation and to give a stimulus for the development of various branches. The popularity of our region is not the highest so far, but, first of all, it is connected with the low level of informational support of tourist attractions existing in Kharkiv oblast. However, there are dozens of various places in Kharkiv oblast, which are able to satisfy even the most seasoned travellers.

In order to increase the attention of tourists to the gems of Kharkiv oblast, Oleksandr Feldman Foundation plans to develop the strategy and to carry out the informational campaign involving everyone who is interested in this, including the representatives of science, in particular, historians and local history experts, the representatives of tourist branch, local authorities and the general public.
