Ukrainian MP, the head of the International Interconfessional Forum and the founder of the Institute of Human Rights and Prevention of Extremism and Xenophobia Oleksandr Feldman appealed the participants of the conflict around the Assumption Cathedral in the village of Ptycha (Rivne oblast) for unity and mutual respect. “We must do our best to not provoke the deep internal interconfessional conflict under the conditions of external aggression,” Mr. Feldman noted. “Now, during difficult times for Ukraine, it is especially important to safeguard peace.”
The deputy also appealed all the sides of the conflict to wisdom and restraint.
It should be reminded that the conflict around the Assumption Cathedral between two Orthodox communities lasts for over a year. On Saturday, December 19, there was another one collision in the village which caused the fight of priests and parishioners. The doors of the church and the fence were broken.
