The Ukrainian MP Olekdandr Feldman urged his Dutch friends to support Ukraine on the way to European values, on the way of changes and reforms.
It was stated in the appeal of the founder of the International Interfaith Forum (where the Dutch religious communities are represented) Olekdandr Feldman to the Jewish communities of the Netherlands, the organizations of civil society, the churches and the religious communities.
“I admit that we are not perfect, we have a long way of changes and reforms ahead. But we have chosen this way first last and all the time. And we want to go through this way with dignity, with Your support and using Your experience and advices,” the message states.
The MP emphasizes that during the last two years, our country fights for the civilized choice.
“During the last two years, thousands of my fellow citizens of different origin and religion – Ukrainians and Russians, Christians and Muslims, Jews and atheists – gave their lives to live in free, independents country where there is no place to corruption, where the rights of any person are respected regardless of his or her nationality or a colour of skin. This is our struggle for the European values, which we share entirely,” Mr. Feldman notes.
“The Association Agreement does not means Ukraine’s joining the European Union, which concerns many people. The matter is in the securing of the choice made by the young Ukrainian nation and the union of the states embodying the progress and the prosperity of the whole world. This is a civilized, not economic choice, not an attempt to shift own difficulties onto the others”, the MP told.
It should be reminded that April 6, 2016, the Netherlands hold the consultative referendum concerning the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement. The following question will be asked: “Are You ‘for’ or ‘against’ the ratification of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement?”
