Ukraine-Israel free trade area agreement signing arranged by the leaders of these two countries shall positively influence the investment and business climate of Kharkiv region. This was stated by Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Feldman, who accompanies the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in his work trip to Israel on December 22-23.
“The free trade area with Israel opens additional opportunities for Kharkiv. Under the conditions of the sanction policy of Russia, Kharkiv, as a frontier city, suffers economically first of all. The opening of the additional opportunities in the form of cooperation with Israeli business shall compensate losses incurred by local economy today,” the politician noted. “Kharkiv and the region is a special territory with the multisegment economy. The cooperation of this region with Israel will be interesting both in trading, agricultural, construction, transportation areas, and in the area of high technologies,” Mr. Feldman notes.
According to his words, the main purpose of the trip of Ukrainian delegation and his personal visit is to attract Israeli investments and to bring Israeli business to Ukraine and, in particular, to Kharkiv. “The prospects of the economic cooperation between the countries were discussed during the yesterday’s dinner with the President of Israel, where the representatives of local business and officials were present. This topic was also discussed today, during the lunch with the representatives of Israeli business,” the MP told.
