The representatives Feldman Ecopark participated in the scientific conference devoted to the sanitary and veterinary examination issues which took place on September 14-15 in the Kharkiv State Zooveterinary Academy.
“We were lucky to be invited to the conference as guests. We arrived not empty-handed and delivered the collection of birds from the Feldman Ecopark: corella parrots which aren’t afraid of cold and don’t demand special facilities for wintering. Upon completion of the first conference day, the participants visited the Regional Landscape Park. Our guests were surprised with the quantity and variety of animals represented in the zoological collection. To my mind, they had a great time here” — the Feldman Ecopark’s deputy director of zootechnics Valeriia Ivashchenko told.
According to Valeriia Ivashchenko, the Feldman Ecopark closely cooperates with the Academy at present. In plans is to equip a small contact court yard in the territory of educational institution where the animals from the Feldman Ecopark will be delivered and children from Mala Danylivka village, where the Academy is located, will communicate with them. Earlier the collections of pheasants, Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs, goats and other animals were delivered to the Zooveterinary Academy from the Feldman Ecopark.
“Besides, together with the management of the Zooveterinary Academy we consider the possibility of cooperation for training of specialists, the veterinarians exotologists. Now the quantity of exotic animals constantly grows and the demand in experts which are capable to treat exotic pets increases” — Valeriia Ivashchenko told.
“The leading experts from all Ukraine arrived to the conference timed to the 140 anniversary of the scientist sanitarian Oleksii Petrov, – the head of the department of veterinary and sanitary examination and forensic veterinary medicine of the Zooveterinary Academy, the Doctor of Science Ivan Yatsenko reported. –Following the completion of the plenary part of the conference we arrived in Feldman Ecopark that is famous for the nature protection activity, great zoological collection and educational activity for youth”.
Ivan Yatsenko also pointed out that the students of the academy pass an educational and work practice in Feldman Ecopark. “Here there is an excellent basis for it, including an opportunity to study various predatory, wild and exotic animals that are not present in the collection of higher education institution. We are glad that our graduates find place of work here” — he told.
