Feldman Ecopark invites to celebrate Defender of Ukraine Day and to feel how to be a Cossack

A large-scale festive and entertaining programme devoted to the Defender of Ukraine Day, the Day of Ukrainian Cossacks and the Orthodox feast of the Intercession of the Theotokos will take place in Feldman Ecopark from Saturday to Monday, October 14-16.

First of all it will be devoted to the legendary defenders of Ukrainian nation – the Cossacks. The organizers of the festival say that the guests of Ecopark will not only be able to take photos with a hetman, Cossack men and women, but also to feel thoroughly how to be the heroes of Cossack’s era by taking part in various thematic activities.

One of the most interesting activities is a historical quest “Hetman’s Treasures.” With the map containing the marked locations, the teams of players will undergo the range of interesting and cheerful competitions, during which they will be able to demonstrate their knowledge of the Cossack’s era and the skills necessary for a real Cossack. The organizers keep the tasks in secret, but suggest that it is necessary to know historic figures to finish the test successfully, to have an understanding of garments of that era and traditional national cuisine, to know Ukraine’s fauna and to know how to take care of pets, to love folk songs and music, and to demonstrate strength and dexterity. Those, who demonstrate all of the necessary Cossack’s qualities, will be awarded with certificates and nice tasty surprises!

The sports and game programme “Cossacks Never Say Die!” for children and adults will be held for those who want to demonstrate their Cossack’s strength (sack battles, tug-of-war, and weight lifting). As for the young and adult intellectuals, they will be able to demonstrate their knowledge in “Cossack glory” quiz. The festive programme will be enriched with the stage performance by the Theatre of Children and Animals “The Pearl of Ukraine,” the performances by folk bands and classical musicians, as well as various master classes in clay modelling, bracelet plaiting using ribbons, and creation of flower ribbons.

It should be also reminded that the Chrysanthemum Ball in Feldman Ecopark continues. It is Ukraine’s largest floristic festival with more than 35,000 chrysanthemum bushes of any form and colour and flower figures of animals.
