New residents in Feldman Ecopark – striped hyenas

The Feldman Ecopark has two new animals, a couple of 8-months old striped hyenas. The predator named Ganga and Genesh are currently living in the heated closed premises. They gain strength and wait for spring. When the weather is warm, the hyenas will be resettled into the new enclosures, where the visitors of the Ecopark will be able to see them.

“These animals have very different tempers,” the Feldman Ecopark deputy director of zootechnic issues Valeriia Ivashchenko tells. “Ganga, a girl, still get used to the new home and is afraid of some workers. The same can’t be said about Genesh, a boy. He is brave enough to contact with some workers and even allows them to stroke him.”

Different tempers do not prevent a couple from peaceful living; they are on good terms with each other. The Ecopark hopes that when the animals grow up, they will be able to start a family and bear their young. Meanwhile, the workers who care the predators are waiting for them to finally adapt and start to make their famous laughter.
