The Vice President of French association “Children of Chornobyl” (“Accueil des Enfants de Tchernobyl”) Claude Scherzer and the representative of the association in Ukraine, the soloist of Virskyi Academic Choir Yurii Vernihor visited Feldman Ecopark to look at its animal collection and find out about the main projects, as well as to communicate with the heads of the Regional Landscape Park. The parties agreed about the continuation of communication for further organization of cooperation.
Claude Scherzer told that since 1993, the association “Children of Chornobyl” helps children from poor families living near Chornobyl, and now they also started to help orphans from the ATO Zone. In France, they arrange charitable concerts to raise money for the summer trips of Ukrainian children to France, where they live in families, and for their rest near the Black Sea. Since the establishment of the association, more than 2,000 children visited France. Claude Scherzer arrived in Kharkiv on the invitation of one of the bands, which gave concert in France this year – the Classic Band of Modern Choreography “Olirna” under Kharkiv Special School No. 62.
“Feldman Ecopark is a wonderful idea, and I can only congratulate its organizers. Children can come here, learn the nature and animals. I was especially impressed by wolves in Ecopark, and the horses of the Horse Complex. I would like to note the wonderful conditions for the animals,” Claude Scherzer noted.
“We are glad to accept the representatives of French association dealing with such an important problem as assistance for children. It is one of the main directions of activity of the Regional Park as well. So we have a lot in common,” the director of Feldman Ecopark Andrii Roshchupkin noted.
