The Ethno weekend took place at the Art Picnic in Feldman Ecopark on August 26 and 27. Travel, literature, cinema, music and not only – everything that our country was ever famous for, it was possible to watch and listen on the Art Picnic’s ground.
“The name of the Ethno weekend appeared simply – we wanted to continue the Independence Day wave, to display the reminiscence of traditions in the present, – the Art Picnic curator Alla Tymoshenko told. – Together with the participants we have planned master classes interesting both to adults and children, such as making of rag dolls, pendants in ethnic style from polymer clay, use of grain during the fine art lessons and also the evening of the Ukrainian cinema, reading of horror stories, lectures on healthy nutrition – everything that is always relevant”.
The whole weekend the Ukrainian cinema – art and documentary – the mystical thriller “Tini nezabutykh predkiv” by Lubomir Levitsky and video series about travels in Ukraine by well-known Ukraїner media project were broadcasted on the big screen of the Art Picnic. The bandura players Yaroslav Dzhus and “Shpyliasti kobzari” band blew the visitors away with their skills and virtuoso performance on the stage.
Besides, the daily programme included: English speaking club for all family, classes in voice training, drawing lessons for adults and children, trainings in Kango Jumps, Pilates, stretching, pole walking, storytelling master class from the Platform of theatrical initiatives and many other things.
It should be reminded that the Art Picnic by the famous TV host Slava Frolova started in the Feldman Ecopark on August 5 and will last till the end of September. The socio-cultural project assumes recreation with impact: every weekend the guests are able to participate in hundreds of events absolutely free of charge.
