This summer about one thousand children will rest at a camp Feldman Ecopark

This year about 800 children aged 8-14 years from Kharkiv and Dergachi region, Kharkiv oblast have already rested, made good use of their time and received a whole range of positive and fresh impressions in the Children’s health-improving and educational camp Feldman Ecopark. The highly topical educative programme of the summer camp includes training excursions, classes in sports tourism and working with animals.

“Since May 29, the summer camp has already carried out 17 sessions and is going to accept 5 more till the end of this season. It is planned that about one thousand children will have a rest here this summer. Like last year, the summer camp programme includes the informative excursions along the Regional Landscape Park and its vicinities, acquaintance with animals, training sessions. Besides, the new directions appeared, namely the visit of the Kind Donkey farm and the Rabbit farm where children will be able to learn a lot of interesting about animals, learn to communicate and to take care of them, to ride donkeys. Also among the novelties are excursions and a family Saturday clean-ups in the micro-reserve which opened this year”, – the head of Feldman Ecopark’s humanitarian programmes Iryna Yavorska told.

Besides, in the Summer camp Feldman Ecopark four-day sessions for children with special needs are held. The sessions include special programme where the emphasis is placed on the psychosocial rehabilitation by means of eco-therapy including communication with horses, donkeys, dogs and rabbits.

The sessions for children with special needs took place in the Summer camp Feldman Ecopark: 13 pupils of the Centre for social rehabilitation of children disabled since childhood “Promin” and 40 children from the Kharkiv special needs school №2 visited the camp.

On August 21-23 the Tent Camp on a spacious meadow on the picturesque coast Three Lakes will be organized for pupils of the Feldman Ecopark Children’s Ecology and Nature Study Academy. In three days the Camp’s residents will learn bowhunting, to cope with climbing equipment, will take part in cross-country with the orienteering elements, will seize such tourist skills as installation of a tent, knotcraft and rope coiling, backpack folding, starting up a fire and many other things. At the end of the course, children will be obliged to pass a test. It will be possible to put into practice the knowledge in a 15 km trekking to the river Kharkiv.

The Children’s health-improving and educational camp Feldman Ecopark accepts children since 2015. Last year the sessions for children with special needs appeared in the camp. The Feldman Ecopark camps are absolutely free of charge for all children.
