The new children’s educational Eco-knower project began its work in the Regional Landscape Park. During the lessons which have begun in the middle of September children from 4 to 12 years gain knowledge of natural study, learn English, get acquainted with animals, are engaged in creativity and theatrics.
According to Yuliya Naboychenko, the Eco-knower project manager, the study is conducted in a school format. Children are divided in groups of 15 people depending on age. The youngest – from three and a half to four years, then five-year-old, six-year-old and so on up to twelve. The programme consists of four occupations. One of them is natural study which is the acquaintance and communication with animals including feeding, training bases, rides on ponies and donkeys, walks with animals. On English classes the children learn names of animals with which they communicated on the previous lesson, the English names of their body parts and other thematic words and speech structures. Creative lessons assume drawing, molding, coloring, handicraft making which reflect impressions of communication with the animals and wildlife gained during classes. During theatre and dance trainings children develop speech, read verses and learn correct behavior on the stage in front of an audience and so on.
“We’ve specially created the team of skilled teachers in each direction and we want the children who come to the Eco-knower gained knowledge of the nature and the world around, developed their creative abilities, communicative skills with the peers and interaction with animals. We plan to involve the most senior pupils in training for kids”, – Yuliya Naboychenko says.
The Eco-knower lessons are conducted on Saturdays and Sundays, each lesson lasts 30 minutes. Before the start the children are able to participate in cheerful exercitation with games and quests from animators of the Feldman Ecopark.
