Nearly 800 animals found a new home within the frameworks of campaign “Saving the Life You Find a Friend!” carried out by the Centre for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” from May to October.
The campaign actions were held every weekend in Feldman Ecopark and near the entry to the Tsentralnyi Rynok metro station. Volunteers involved by Good Home usually found home to nearly 25 kittens and puppies, as well as the other domestic animals – rabbits, guinea pigs, snails – during a weekend.
“We offer a platform for people to open their hearts for stray animals, to join the animal protection movement and to find caring owners for the kittens and puppies, which were born in their homes or found by them. This work becomes more and more popular every year. Moreover, we offer coupons for cut-price sterilization,” the head of Good Home Iryna Podvoiska told. “We continue receiving calls from people wishing to join the campaign. However, the matter is often in very small animals, and it is very uncomfortable for them to stay outside when it is cold, so we had to temporarily suspend our campaign.”
However, with the end of warm season the campaigns aimed at finding home to stray animals do not stop. They just change a format: it is planned to carry out studio photo shoots for homeless animals, and these photos will be published on the special websites, social networks and mass media. The outdoors actions will be resumed in spring.
A year ago, nearly 600 pets found new caring owners in the course of these actions.
It should be reminded that Feldman Ecopark Good Home was opened in 2010. In 2013, it became an all-Ukrainian service helping not only domestic pets, but wild and exotic animals as well. In October 2017, Good Home launched an all-Ukrainian information hotline to help animals. It is possible to receive a competent advice and, in case of need, to call for rescuers to help animals by calling 0-800-302-303 for free.
