Feldman Ecopark Good Home Rescues Little Fox

A fox-cub with a broken leg was brought to the Centre for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home.”

A weakened animal with a big suppurated injury in poor condition (perhaps, it fell into a trap) was noticed in the industrial area by caring Kharkiv residents. They addressed animal advocates, who, in turn, brought a fox-cub for emergency treatment and rehabilitation in Good Home.

During the examination, it has been found that the leg cannot be saved. The fox-cub was operated urgently in order to stop the spreading of infection. It still feels bad so far, but there is a hope that the appetite for life wins. Nevertheless, a long rehabilitation is waiting for the animal anyway.

“It’s a great luck that this cub was noticed and brought to us: without medical assistance it could face a long and painful death. We will make everything possible to set it on the legs. After that it will stay in our Good Home, as it’s just impossible for this fox-cub to survive in the wild,” the head of Good Home Iryna Podvoiska emphasized. “Injured and sick foxes, raccoon dogs and other wild animals found in the city become our patients more and more often. One of the reasons for this phenomenon is a thoughtless killing of stray dogs, the place of which in the city’s ecosystem is taken by unadapted forest residents.”

It should be noted that this fox-cub is not a single problem patient that has recently appeared in Good Home. Thus, after the call received by Good Home’s hot line, a kitten (which was named Hope) knocked down by a car near the Gorky Park was brought to the veterinarians. A blow was very heavy: a kitten had avulsive wounds, broken legs and tail, and craniocerebral trauma. It was operated seriously, and its tail and leg were saved. The cat is not so frightened anymore and looks much more cheerful. It eats enough and walks along the box limping slightly.
