Feldman Ecopark Good Home participated in the International Animal Protection Conference

The head of the All-Ukrainian Service for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” Iryna Podvoiska took part in the International conference on humane approach to the solution of the problem of stray animals Pets Care & Control in Ukraine 2017 which has taken place on the premises of the Kiev city public administration.

Representatives of the international, All-Ukrainian and regional animal protection organizations among which such authoritative as IFAW, Dogs Trust Worldwide (both are Great Britain), Four Paws (Austria) participated in the conference. The main purpose of the conference is discussion and popularization of comprehensive methods of control of the number of stray animals in the cities and promotion of the humane attitude of people towards animals; experience exchange between animal activists on humane control of the number of stray animals; discussion of the principles of formation of strategy of comfortable coexistence of people and animals in the city and rural eco-systems; the presentation of initiatives of humane attitude towards cats and dogs in the field of education.

“First of all, at this conference we have seen how around the world including many Ukrainian cities, the mechanism of control of the number of stray animals with the help of humane methods develops. We exchanged experience in this direction, communicated to representatives of many international organizations and declared that Ukraine is ready to adopt the best international experience — Iryna Podvoiska noted. – Among the interesting projects presented at the conference were: use of Canine-assisted therapy with participation of the dogs salvaged by volunteers for psychosocial rehabilitation of ATO victims. This is a developing direction in the Feldman Ecopark therefore we have opportunities for cooperation”. Also, according to Iryna Podvoiska, during the conference many negotiations on cooperation were held, in particular, the Good Home and the Four Paws organization agreed to exchange experience on catching of those stray dogs that are reluctant to contact with volunteers.
