Paper flowers instead of plucked ones- Feldman Ecopark’s young naturalists began “Careful! Primroses!” campaign

The members of the Feldman Ecopark Children’s Ecology and Nature Study Academy began the annual “Careful! Primroses!” campaign. This spring except traditional red-listed plant protection activities, such as placing of warning plates in the territory of the Regional Landscape Park, carrying out preventive talks with the visitors and the organization of thematic exhibitions the young naturalists will create paper flowers, and hand them round the guests of the Feldman Ecopark as an alternative to live primroses.

“First this idea was realized by the young naturalists of the Lviv Children’s Ecology and Nature Study Centre. They distributed handmade paper flowers in the centre of Lviv before March 8 in order to draw attention to the problem of spring mass gathering of bluebells and primroses, which in can soon disappear because of the injurious human behavior, – the head of the Club of biologists of the Children’s Academy Feldman Ecopark Anna Pozdnyakova told. – We ‘ve been on friendly terms with the West Ukrainian colleagues for a long time. We often stay with them, we regularly communicate, impart experience. No wonder they have supported the project at once. Our young naturalists have already learned to make remarkable tiny bouquets from multi-colored paper and as soon as it gets warmer, they will hand these flowers round the guests of the Feldman Ecopark. We plan to hold master classes in production of artificial flowers. We will teach everyone to create the beauty, but not to ruin it”.

It should be reminded that the Children’s Ecology and Nature Study Academy of Feldman Ecopark is one of Ukraine’s largest non-governmental out-of-school educational institutions. More than 1,000 children of different age study in it. There are more than a dozen of different departments and clubs in it: Horse Complex, Theatre of Children and Animals, Young Naturalists-Biologists Club, EcoSmarty Children Development School, Young Cynologist Club, Master City creative studio, Ski and Biathlon Club, Tourist Multidiscipline Competition Group, and many more.
