Employees of the All-Ukrainian Service for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” came to a new record on rehoming of the homeless pets. In six years of project existence 15 thousand dogs, cats, rabbits and other pets parted to new cozy houses.
“Results which were achieved by our team are stunning. In six years we managed to expand the volunteer project to Ukraine-wide terms, – the head of service Irina Podvoyskaya tells. – Since 2010 the “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” directed the forces to salvation of homeless animals of Kharkiv from death and ill-treatment. And already in the 2013th we found the All-Ukrainian service which helps not only pets, but also wild and exotic animals of the whole country: it occupies evacuation, provision of the veterinary help, rehabilitation”.
The majority of animals find new owners thanks to the rehome shares “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” or to a placement of announcements in the Internet.
“The most important thing that we always try to inform people of, no matter, whether the person found the kitten or a domestic cat gave birth to it – the fact that it is impossible just shift responsibility for an animal onto someone another. Remaining indifferent, we won’t make our society the best; we won’t help that number of the thrown pets which is within our powers to salvage. Therefore we help people to rehome animals independently: we advise, we prompt, we direct. And only thanks to the fact that ordinary people are actively connected to our work we have achieved such result”, – Irina says.
People who have found a homeless kitten or a puppy, and also those whose pet has got posterity can come to shares of the All-Ukrainian Service for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” and to hand out kids in safe hands. Before it the fluffy handsome is inspected by veterinarians, ridded of vermin, and carried out sterilization by age. Well-groomed, well-fad, decorated with bright bows – heroes of the share wait for the caregivers every week-end on the main Avenue Ecopark, from 10:00 till 18:00. Besides, the same activities are held in the territory of the Central Market and the Shopping Center “Barabashovo.”
If during the share someone wasn’t so fortunate, and remained unnoticed, then the animal is sent to a photographic studio where specialists do professional pictures. These photos together with summary of a cat or a dog post on the various popular websites and communities of social networks that allow expanding the circle of potential owners. Experienced employees of theService suggest how it is better to file the announcement that it drew attention of users as much as possible. Specialists of the Service share useful skills of work with partners and volunteers from Dnieper and Kiev. Thanks to such methods of work animals find owners not only in Kharkiv, they also part to the cities of Ukraine and far beyond country borders.
