Chrysanthemum Ball 2018 is Officially Over – Thousands of Flowers will Go to Schools and Hospitals

Chrysanthemum Ball 2018 is officially over in Feldman Ecopark. Its main participants – thousands of perennial “golden flowers” will be given to children’s educational and medical institutions in Kharkiv and Kharkiv oblast for planting in their territories. The organizers of the country’s largest floristic festival, which, by the way, was attended by a record number of visitors – 600,000, decided to extend the holiday and share their “gold” by giving it to the friends as a souvenir.

“Chrysanthemums are perennial plants blooming every summer. When the Ball was ended in the previous years, they remained in the territory of our Multi-Complex. This year, it was decided to give it to those who need this beauty the most – to children, especially the little ones and those who currently undergo treatment in hospitals,” the main landscaper in Feldman Ecopark Mykola Dvoretskyi told. “We have dug out the flowers carefully and prepared them for transportation in special pots. Now, it will be possible to preserve them in cold place till spring or to plant them right now, as they will safely pass winter in soil under the cover of conifer branches or leaves.”

Several hundreds of “autumn queens” have already been sent to Kharkiv Children’s Hospice. It is a new unit in the 5th Municipal Hospital that provides palliative medical assistance and psychological support to children with end stage incurable illnesses.

In addition, Feldman Ecopark also gave chrysanthemums to its neighbours: Kharkiv State Zooveterinary Academy, nursery school “Dzvinochok” and ambulance station in Mala Danylivka, Hnat Khotkevych Musical School in Cherkaska Lozova and other special institutions in Derhachi region.

It should be reminded that the Chrysanthemum Ball in Feldman Ecopark is Ukraine’s largest flower festival. It is held every year under the auspices of the International Charitable Foundation “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation” since 2012.
