Within the Art Picnic Weekends project in Feldman Ecopark the street library will be created. All not indifferent Kharkiv citizens can make their contribution to its replenishment by bringing juvenile and adult literature to the Art Picnic Information Centre (works daily from 11:00 to 17:00 near the Feldman Ecopark’s central entrance).
“Our social project grew up on stories presented by the visitors: thousands of books which later were changed on other ones have been re-read under the shade of trees in the fresh air. We attract all Kharkiv citizens to create a knowledge islet on the Art Picnic Weekends. If your books feel sad on the shelves, we will save them from sadness!” — the organizers emphasize.
The Art Picnic in the Feldman Ecopark seeks out the home for these books. For instance, old refrigerators will be ideal for this. If you have needless refrigerator – help to create “Food for Mind”. The volunteers will bring it to the Ecopark, cover it with drawings, fill with books and make a part of creative street library. Moreover, everyone will be able take part in production of book shelves from available materials.
“The outward and the enrichment of the reader’s corner depend on each of us” — the organizers emphasize.
All this is being done so that the guests of the Art Picnic Weekends could not only visit various activities in 10 directions (art, movie, music, theatre, literature, sport (mind and body), children, festivals and fairs, good deeds, and meetings with interesting people but also to read the interesting book in a peaceful atmosphere outdoors.
Art Picnic is an annual open-air sociocultural festival aimed at the development and popularization of the modern Ukrainian culture and art. It was held for the first time in Kyiv in 2013, except the capital of Ukraine it also passed in Odessa and Rivne. This year it will be held for the first time in Kharkiv, in the Feldman Ecopark.
