Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Feldman is against the bill, which restricts the activities of private entrepreneurs. He wrote about it on his Facebook page.
“In the beginning of March, the bill toughening the taxation system for private entrepreneurs was registered in the Parliament. Among other things, the authors of the initiative propose to completely abolish the third group of individual entrepreneurs and to restrict activities for the entrepreneurs of the 1st and the 2nd groups. If someone thinks that it is a minor issue concerning only the narrow circle of individuals, that’s a mistake. There are 1.76 million private entrepreneurs in Ukraine, who fill the budget with taxes, and thanks to this, the country is able to ensure the increase of social payments. Any negative changes for small businesses in the system of taxation will affect the prices on their goods and services, so everyone will feel the fruits of these ‘reforms.’ I know that the IMF insisted on the complete abolition of the simplified tax system for private entrepreneurs, but the interests of Ukraine must be above the wishes of our creditors. It is good that the President openly spoke against this bill submitted by two lawmakers from his faction – it raises hope that the ‘game rules’ for small business in Ukraine will not worsen. As for those, who sees the sings of corruption in the simplified tax system, I would like to propose them to pay attention to the real ‘black holes’ for the budget, which appear because of the merger of the power and big business. Small business is not an enemy. It is the state’s partner. And if the authorities are not ready to help it so far, then, at least, they should not preventing it from working.”
