Oleksandr Feldman took part in charitable auction

The famous patron Oleksandr Feldman took part in the charitable auction “Art for Life,” which was held in the end of March in the Mystetskyi Arsenal Complex in Kyiv.

Within the framework of the project implemented by the Borys Lozhkin Foundation, the auction presented the works of the famous Ukrainian artists. The received means will be spent on the purchase of up-to-date resuscitation system allowing to make anaesthesia to dysmature infants in the Children’s Cardiac Center of Illya Yemets.

“Helping children by means of art is a close topic for us. Our foundation became the initiator of the series of charitable auctions “The Art of Mercy”. Their purpose is to draw attention of the public to the problem of children’s health in Ukraine, to initiate and promote the activity of patrons for its solution,” Mr. Feldman told.

It should be reminded that the “The Art of Mercy” project was launched in 2011. During the series of auctions, the works from the personal collection of Oleksandr Feldman were proposed, including the works by Marc Chagall, Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, and Henri Matisse. The received means were transferred to the purchase of medical equipment for the Kharkiv Municipal Centre of Children’s Neurosurgery, and to the establishment and the work of the Centre of Rehabilitation of Children and Teenagers of the Feldman Ecopark.

During the “Art for Life” auction, Oleksandr Feldman purchased the “Sky” series’ sculpture by Nikita Zigura. It should be noted that he was a participant of the festival of modern art titled “Feldman Art Park,” which was held on the territory of the Feldman Ecopark in autumn 2015.

“It is very important that the modern Ukrainian authors devote their talent to charity and take part in similar events knowing that their art saves someone’s live. Our task is to support their active attitude to life and to promote the popularization of their works,” the patron emphasized.

It should be reminded that within the framework of the cultural and educative festival “Feldman Art Park,” which took place on October 2-30, 2015, the competition of young Ukrainian artists and sculptors was held. Over 1,000 authors from across Ukraine at the age under 35 took part in the art competition in three fields: painting, graphics and sculpture. According to the results of selection, 200 works by 105 artists and sculptors were exhibited at Feldman Art Park. The best participants got grants established by the International Charitable Foundation “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation,” to train in prestigious European art residences. It is planned to continue this project this year.
