Every year, the beginning of May is characterized by the days filling our hearts with warm sadness, gratitude, pride and hope. They serve as a moral guideline for each of us.
We think of the Great and terrible war that ended over 50 years ago, we mourn about the millions of lives, which were taken by the war. We bow our heads to and thank those who, at the cost of superhuman efforts and titanic willpower, were able to survive, undergo terrible ordeals and win. We, their descendants, are proud of this Victory. It is not subject to revision – it was a victory of good over evil, the victory over Nazism. Our duty is not to forget about this, to maintain the connections between generations, to share the truth about that war with our children, as well as the memory about the feat of their grandfathers and great grandfathers. And this is our hope. Hope for peace, for the triumph of reason over madness.
I wish all veterans, persons born in time of war, and people serving in rear long life, health and happiness, and of course, peaceful skies for everyone!
