Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Feldman congratulated Kharkiv Regional United Jewish Community on the 25th anniversary. The parliamentarian emphasized that during the years of its existence it became the centre of spiritual life for the Jews of Kharkiv region, and takes active part in development of the native land.
“This is the great age, as the community is still young and, at the same time, many things have already been done,” Oleksandr Feldman noted. “With our joint efforts, the building of one of the most beautiful synagogues in Ukraine and Europe. There is a Jewish school and kindergarten in Kharkiv, children are able to rest in the health-improving camp in summer. There are a lot of cultural and educational programs for those who want to learn the traditions of their people.”
According to Oleksandr Feldman, it is symbolic that the anniversary of the Kharkiv Regional United Jewish Community coincided with the Year of Unification, an important event for each Jew.
“Today, we return to our roots; with the help of our children and grandchildren we feel ourselves the part of united people. And we are proud of this, we are not ashamed of our nationality as in the old day,” he emphasized.
Oleksandr Feldman wished the Jewish Community of Kharkiv region more solidarity, peace and good.
“Peace and mutual understanding between everyone who consider Ukraine to be a native home is the main value, which must be maintained by us and pass to the descendants,” he summed up.
