Oleksandr Feldman: NGOs should become the state’s partners in its nature conservation policy implementation

Social movements and NGOs, which are actively formed in present-day Ukraine, should become a fundamental and demanding partner of the state in the implementation of its nature conservation policy.

It was stated by Ukrainian MP, the founder of Feldman Ecopark, Oleksandr Feldman during the side event “Development of the European paradigm ‘Humanity and nature’ in Ukraine,” which took place in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg today.

According to his words, Ukraine, despite the hybrid war, the occupation of Crimea and everyday human losses as the result of military aggression from the Russian Federation, insistently moves towards the European standards of life of the society as a whole and its ecological field in particular.

“The development of the united European state of Ukraine will be defined more and more by the ability of the society to be consolidated around the values, which are proved by the very fact of human existence. And one of these values is a harmony between human development and favourable environmental condition,” the parliamentarian noted.

Within the framework of the event, the MP presented the All-Ukrainian Social and Humanitarian Multi-Complex Feldman Ecopark, which successfully functions in Kharkiv for 7 years.

“Feldman Ecopark is a unique project, which is actually a platform for the implementation of different ideas of animal advocates, volunteers and just active people. More than 20 social and animal protection projects have been implemented in the multi-complex. Some of them are developing successfully right now,” Oleksandr Feldman noted.

According to him, the number of volunteers, who are ready to join the animal protection and other projects, increases every year. As of today, Feldman Ecopark cooperates with dozens of animal protection and humanitarian organizations on all continents.

“Step by step, we open new opportunities for us and obtain new knowledge. We are open for cooperation with new nature conservation and animal protection organizations,” the MP stated.

The representative of the parliaments from ten European countries took part in the side event “Development of the European paradigm ‘Humanity and nature’ in Ukraine.” Young representatives of Ukrainian delegation – children from Western Ukraine, who were present at the European Parliament, – joined the discussion actively.

Oleksandr Feldman thanked Ukrainian MP Serhii Labaziuk for the assistance in preparation of the event and participation in it.

It should be reminded that the All-Ukrainian Social and Humanitarian Multi-Complex Feldman Ecopark carries out its activities in Kharkiv oblast since 2011. Feldman Ecopark is a charitable project of Oleksandr Feldman Foundation.

Since the moment of its establishment, the Social and Humanitarian Multi-Complex was attended by more than 7 million persons from Ukraine and dozens of countries all over the world. Feldman Ecopark developed and successfully launched the range of humanitarian and nature conservation projects. The most ambitious of them are the Centre for Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Children’s Ecology and Nature Study Academy, Centre for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Good Home”, Centre for Chiroptera Rehabilitation. Starting from 2018, Feldman Ecopark actively cooperates with the World Open Foundation for Animal Rehabilitation and Reintroduction (WOFARR).
