“Many Ukrainians, unfortunately, live with the outdated bipolar world map in which Ukraine has to choose one of two ways – to become a subpartner for the USA or Russia. In my view the modern geopolitical solitaire is much more difficult, and our only chance to return the subjectivity on the international stage is to balance between the different policy-makers — the Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Feldman wrote on his Facebook page. — And first of all it must be focused on the economic interests. Geopolitics must be primarily the continuation of geoeconomics”.
As the politician noted, the China’s economy in 2016 grew by 6,7%. In absolute terms the economy range exceeds a psychological threshold of 10 trillion dollars. “For Ukraine Beijing is not only a prospect, but also the urgent partner. Totally in the structure of our foreign trade China is on the 2nd place after Russia and enters five countries where Ukraine exports most of goods. Donald Trump with whom our government should create some kind of normal relationship in China sees the main threat of the American hegemony. Probably, the unwillingness of Washington to give Ukraine to an influence orbit of Beijing will become a necessary impulse in our cooperation with America. Generally, it is so called balanced foreign policy to which Ukraine must return. None of our partners should see himself as a non-competitive owner of a situation, and Ukraine – as a helpless subject of someone else’s agreements” — Oleksandr Feldman emphasized.
