“Violence is extremely dangerous infection. If to let the situation getting out of hand, it will strike the society like an epidemic. A cruel assault is committed against one of Kharkiv mini-shelters for animals. All its inhabitants, adult animals and their cubs are killed”, Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Feldman wrote on his Facebook page.
“This is a demonstrative violence, showy murder. Cruelty for the sake of cruelty. We are obliged to get tough with similar dangerous incidents of violence, not to allow this infection to destroy public ideas of good and evil, moral and immoral, admissible and unacceptable. I demand detailed crime investigation and punishment of guilty persons” — he emphasized.

According to the founder of a mini-shelter “Teremok” Elena Tarasova, on the night of July 15 in Kharkiv unknown have rushed into the animal shelter, cruelly killed cats and kittens and crushed the house. “I don’t even know what to call it. They haven’t been simply killed, 9 animals — 2 adult cats and 7 kittens were bludgeoned to death” — she has written. The police reported that on the crime site a sharp-bladed spade and 9 killed cats were found. Material evidences are seized.
