“In fact, on New Year’s Eve increase in taxes, increase in prices and a new wave of unemployment were presented to Ukrainians in a beautiful wrapper. The current campaign of “salary tracking” will result in new reductions, closing or being off the sole proprietors radar”, – the Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Feldman stated on his Facebook page.
According to him, the Kharkiv region is on the 2nd place after Kiev by the number of the business owners who shut down work. In total for incomplete month in Ukraine about 130 thousand sole proprietors were closed, and this tendency remains. People stand in queues for hours in order to turn from taxpayers into unemployed.
“In the autumn when the authority just started hyping itself on increasing of “minimum-wage”, the experts warned about threat to business”, – the politician emphasized.
“I still consider that mentally Ukraine is the country of entrepreneurs and even if the Soviet authorities didn’t manage to change it, our current heads haven’t got many chances to cope with it. I understand that any authority has a temptation to inculcate paternalistic directives to the citizens: like, we guarantee you “the survival budget” and in exchange the state interferes with all spheres, dictates the terms and rules of life. But it is definitely not the European, not liberal and not market driven approach, – Oleksandr Feldman noted. – To escape from a permanent crisis situation, to make the economic break, it’s necessary on the contrary to cultivate personal initiative values and to create conditions so it’s profitable to run business fair and square in the country”.
