The Ukrainian MP Alexander Feldman called for consolidation of efforts of state bodies, local government bodies, civil society and especially media in understanding of an essence of the occurrence under the name “Babi Yar”.
He declared it during parliamentary hearings “the 75th anniversary of the tragedy of Babi Yar: lessons of history and the present” in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on September 27.
“Historical memory of our society will be held in generations if except monuments and a memorable sign on innocent victims, in Babi Yar the State strategy is realized. Its goal – to establish in society such called “protectors” from repeating of Babi Yar: legislative, informative and educational” — Alexander Feldman declared.
At the same time, the politician urged not to seek publicity on this topic.
“We can’t have the fight for leadership and unreasonable ambitions of these leaders won. This is not the right place to cross swords in internal wars” — the politician added.
Alexander Feldman urged politicians to unite: “Both in the face of this large-scale human catastrophic crash, and for the sake of the next generations in which hands the future of Ukraine is, all of us shall unite: irrespective of political addictions and beliefs”.
