The Service for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” continues its work aimed at the introduction of the mechanism of control of the number of stray animals with the help of humane methods in the towns of Kharkiv oblast. Recently the specialists of our Centre have visited Vovchansk and Pervomaiskyi – some of the first towns to launch the CSVR programme (capture, sterilization, vaccination, return to natural habitat).
“In Vovchansk the programme is in its second year of operation. During this time, 100 dogs have been caught, sterilized, chipped and vaccinated from rabies. The same quantity of pets were sterilized at preferential prices. It is not just a number for us, it’s a step towards building a modern humane European society — the head of “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” Iryna Podvoiska emphasized. — Assistance on catching of noncontact dogs and their transportation to sterilization was the main issue of a recent meeting. We continue to work in this direction: we promote creation of the sterilization centre and temporary foster home for stray dogs and cats”.
In just two days, working in Pervomaiskiy the Good Home specialists have caught and sterilized 32 dogs. According to our experts, both the local management, and residents support the introduction of humane methods here. “We are pleased to see that many partial residents brought to sterilization centre gifts for animals and decontamination equipment, found time for creation of more comfortable conditions necessary for maintenance and adaptation of postoperative dogs” — note in Good Home.
According to the Good Home specialists, more and more settlements of the Kharkiv oblast (Merefa, Lyubotin, Lozova, the village of Donets) pay attention to regulation of number of stray animals with the help of humane methods that proves its effectiveness and good prospects.
Besides, the Good Home together with volunteers continues to assist Kharkiv mini-shelters providing, primarily food for animals.
“We weekly bring to volunteers who take animals from streets at least 600 kg of products. We express gratitude to all partial people as well as to shops and the organizations that join our campaigns and help us: in particular, to the Life-Group company that brought 203 kg of dry kibble, to the Premier Palace Hotel Kharkiv that rendered 300 kg of meat bones, and to our many other partners”, the Good Home specialists emphasized.
It should be reminded that Feldman Ecopark Good Home was opened in 2010. In 2013, it became an all-Ukrainian service, which provides assistance not only to pets, but also to wild and exotic animals. In October 2017, Good Home launched the all-Ukrainian information and advice helpline to solve animal issues (0-800-302-303).
