O. Feldman: Having adopted the resolution on the Babi Yar tragedy, the parliament took an important step to understanding of our history

Importance of the Verkhovna Rada resolution “About the recommendations of parliamentary hearings “the 75th anniversary of Babi Yar tragedy: lessons of history and modern times» which was accepted yesterday, on November 16, consists, primarily, in accurate fixing of a line item of the state on these questions at the legislative level. The Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Feldman wrote about it on his Facebook page.

“From now the Holocaust history will be included in general education programs as a part of the world history and the history of Ukraine, the corresponding materials will be published in school textbooks. It is an important step to understanding of the history and preserving memory of the dead. And it is very necessary for both recent and future generations of Ukrainian citizens – Oleksandr Feldman emphasized. – I want to hope that we became even closer to that civilizational state model where everyone realizes the value of human life, mercy, human rights and supremacy of law. I’m sure that, studying history of the country, as it actually was before, with victories and defeats, with its light and dark pages, young compatriots will be able to build the state where the main human right – the right to life – is sacred”.
