“It is enough to read 10 books to become smart, but it is necessary to read thousands in order to find them “, – this catch phrase conveys well one of the main ideas which we want to explain to our children. Our task is to show the reading value for everyone, to explain that to read is better, than to look, help them to understand why it is important to comprehend and discuss prior reading. Because very often people are able to read, but are not able to recite deeply”, – the head of psychological service of the Center Tatyana Aliyeva tells. – We want to teach teenagers to think, comprehend prior reading and to take it in them”.

At the beginning of the training its participants acquainted with the biography of the writer whose book was chosen for work for them to understand how his life and his inner world are reflected in the book. For the first training the staff of the Center took O’Genri’s short story “Roads which we choose”.

“The perspective of this short story is close to teenagers: they have heightened sense of justice. She helps to understand what treachery and self-interest is, to create feeling of friendship, fidelity, responsibility, – the head of a health service of the Center Inna Vashkite noted. – During discussion of this short story children raised a lot of important topics: firmness, will, friendship, and love”.

Having listened to the short story, participants of training discussed its plot, reviewed the actions of heroes, comprehended that the author wanted to inform the reader of. According to the staff of the Center, such form of work with books was pleasant to them and children with pleasure undertook homework for the following training: to choose one short story of the same author, to read it and then to inform group of sense of prior read, to tell, what exactly this short story was pleasant and remembered of.
