The Forest Olympic Games took place in Feldman Ecopark. For the first time everyone could test themselves in traditional and historical sports. The activity the TOURNAMENT of 1000 TEAMS took place within the program of the International Charitable Fund of Oleksandr Feldman.
As the director Feldman Eсopark Andrey Roshchupkin notes, “the TOURNAMENT of 1000 TEAMS” is the project uniting different types of sport on the basis of Regional Landscape Park. “The aim of the program is promoting of a healthy lifestyle in all manifestations. In spite of the fact that the project first of all is focused on children and youth, everyone irrespective of age and starting physical capacities can find his favorite sports activity. Special improving programs are also developed for people with special needs”, – Andrey Roshchupkin says.
About hundred people among whom, pupils of city summer camp, the Horse complex, participants of the Theatre of Children and Animals, the young naturalists biologists, and also everyone who came to Ecopark this day took part in competitions.
The Olympic superiority was carried out in four types: archery, a forest bicycle track with natural obstacles, a zip-line adventure on speed and pushing of a stone (a historical sport from which a modern shot putting occurs).
Such competitions took place in Feldman Ecopark for the first time. Further, in a month, competitions will separately take place for different age categories. At the same time the amount of sports disciplines to which javelin throw, pushing of a log, a forest obstacle course will be expanded.
We will note that “The TOURNAMENT of 1000 TEAMS” began as a children’s mini football tournament in 2001 at the initiative of Alexander Feldman. It was the Ukraine’s first large-scale project directed to revival of mass sport for children and young people. During the tournament about 1 million school students took part in it. Within “The TOURNAMENT of 1000 TEAMS” mini football, table tennis, volleyball, street ball trainings, skiing competitions, cycle races, cross-country run, different types of gymnastics, chess and other sports pass.
