The specialists of the Centre for Psychosocial Rehabilitation of Feldman Ecopark will take part in the international interdisciplinary scientific and practical conference “Art-Therapy Space: Variability and Stability – the Search of Balance,” which will take place in Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy on February 15-17. On the conference opening day, the heads of psychological and medical services of the Centre – Tetiana Aliieva (Candidate of Psychology) and Inna Vashkite (Candidate of Medicine) – will present a binary report “Canis therapy in the system of eco-therapy for children with special needs.”
“The main goal of the conference is the presentation of modern theoretically founded methods of art-psychotherapeutic interaction. In other words, it is exchange of experience that may be applied by the colleagues in their practice of psychotherapy, counseling, social and pedagogic work,” Tetiana Aliieva noted. “We are going to tell how our Centre works using the unique opportunities provided by the Social and Humanitarian Multi-Complex Feldman Ecopark. First of all, the matter is in the use of dogs during lessons with different categories of children.”
Moreover, on Saturday, February 16, the specialists of the Centre for Psychosocial Rehabilitation will give a master class “The OH Cards in the system of family psychotherapy,” while on Sunday, February 17, they will arrange a tour along Feldman Ecopark for the participants of the international conference.
“Foreign guests and the visitors from other cities, who haven’t been to the Multi-Complex yet, will have an opportunity to find out about its potential and directly assess the natural and preformed factors of eco-therapy indicated in our report,” Inna Vashkite emphasized. “And, of course, we will acquaint them with our four-legged assistants, which are involved in the projects for children with special needs.”
It should be reminded that the Centre for Psychosocial Rehabilitation was opened in Feldman Ecopark in 2013. It renders assistance to children and adults, including the families of IDPs and ATO veterans. The unique part of the Centre’s work is the method of eco-therapy, which applies therapeutic effects of communication with nature and animals, as well as creative work.
