The activists plan to unite development of democracy and civil society with civil journalism.
The new platform is the All-Ukrainian Union “Popular initiatives” public organization. It is anticipated that it will unite active not indifferent Kharkiv citizens ready to improve the city and life of people by specific deeds, to advocate the interests of the First capital, to be a support and protection to each inhabitant.
“In Ukraine the government often acts not for the people’s convenience though the people are the source of the power structure under statute law. Very few people attach significance to citizens’ initiatives: the information on them seldom appears in media, the powers ignore them, as a rule, they are irrelevant to most public organizations and political parties. We are to change this situation. Who is ready to work and fight for the benefit of ordinary people making our native Kharkiv better. We don’t wait for others to solve our problems. We show an initiative and take control of our life” —Sergii Burlakov, the founder of the All-Ukrainian Union “Popular initiatives” tells.
Among the objectives of integration is to prepare a bulk for decentralization and to help to finish processes of transformation of authorities with the greatest transparency, to offset the pressure of external forces and not to let radical moods to influence the situation in the region. The network of public receptions of the organization is created for the most effective implementation of programs in the city. Independent project management will be implemented by the activists of various directions: volunteers, anticorruption crusaders, human rights activists, journalists, physicians, teachers, ecologists, athletes and representatives of science, culture, art and also everyone who cares about the fate and the future of our city.
The project will carry out the activity on grant financing and the resources of social society organizations. The International Charitable Foundation “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation” has already allocated the first tranche.
