The pupil of the Theatre of Children and Animals Feldman Ecopark Kseniya Ukolova with work “Behavioral research of alpacas” took the third place at the All-Ukrainian tender of young zoologists and animal breeders which took place on February 7-9 in Kiev.
Kseniya made observations on the habits of alpaca during her studies in Theatre of Children and Animals. In her work devoted to such rare for Ukraine animal, about whom very little special literature is given, the young researcher worked out a “dictionary” of her pet’s language comprised of sounds, poses and gestures. Together with the employee of the Theatre of Children and Animals Stanislava Shmandelyuk they ceated portraits of emotions. These drawings became important addition to her work submitted in the contest.
“Kseniya is in her second year studying in the Theatre of Children and Animals. She takes care of the alpaca Kolya with whom participates in all performances of the Theatre. While training animals, it is essential to understand their behavior, emotions and habits, to study instincts in general and specificity of the individual. Ksenia generalized this experience and took as the basis for her tender work”, -the director of the Theatre of Children and Animals Feldman Ecopark Elena Garazhina told.
It should be reminded that the pupils of the Feldman Ecopark’s Club of Young Naturalists participated in more than 50 conferences and forums. For successful implementation of innovative approaches in after-school education the club was entitled “Innovative Institution” by the National Ecological Centre and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
