Pupils of the Club of Young Naturalists, children of the city summer camp, project participants “Take away children from streets” the Center of Psychosocial Rehabilitation and teaching staff Feldman Ecopark visited a three-day backpacking trip by the Kharkiv region. Big expedition through the picturesque neighborhood of the settlement Lesnoe, and also the Cherkasy Tishki and Tsirkuny villages was organized specially to closing of the last session of children’s camps of Ecopark. More than 100 people, and also dogs of the Club of Cynologists and burros of the Horse complex went to a hike. During the travel the young team Feldman Ecopark overcame enviable distance — more than 15 kilometers.
In a hike children practised in archery and the slack line, went floating on kayaks, learned to work with climbing equipment. Besides, children were practicing skills in sports orientation both on foot, and by bicycles. Also children deepened knowledge in geography and biology: teachers on a living example told and showed features of the area, studied plants and animals representing the woods and steppes of the region.
Important and useful part of a hike, according to teachers was the fact that children took active part in the choice of the crash pad and even set up the camp with their own hands: set up tents, helped adults to make a camp fire and cookery.
In the evening active adventures on untraveled tracks of the Kharkiv region were replaced by sociable sit-round gatherings near the campfire, hiking songs, intriguing stories and entertaining contests.
“It’s a real school of the young fighter for the children. There are no computers, TVs, sofas, hot water and other benefits, habitual for the city child. There is only nature and man. The best rest which can only be presented to children in the summer is adventures with the friendly company in the fresh air — the head of humanitarian projects Feldman Ecopark Irina Yavorskaya told. — During a hike children strengthened skills of team work, a cooperation and mutual assistance, learned to be independent and responsible and, the main thing: received an improbable charge of joy and impressions before start of new academic year.
We will note that the city summer camp Feldman Ecopark began work on May 30 and was extended up to August 21. In three months in Ecopark pupils of the Club of Young Naturalists, school students from Kharkiv, Dergachy and the Cherkasy Lozova managed to have a rest. Besides in Feldman Ecopark sessions for children with special needs worked. For vacationers the saturated entertaining educational program was prepared: children attended various excursions, concerts, holidays, took care of animals, had a rest on the lake, went hiking, studied elements of riding and acquired skills in arts and crafts in the City of Masters. During rest transportation by bus, tasty, nutritious and useful lunches in the fresh air have been organized for children. We will note that rest in the children’s city camp, as well as other projects Feldman Ecopark, is absolutely free of charge.
