Sport orienteering competitions have finished within the territory of the Regional landscape park called Feldman Ecopark. More than 20 thousands of citizens of Kharkiv and the region took part in the festival. The event was held under the patronage of the International charitable foundation ‘Oleksandr Feldman foundation’.
During a month real sportsmen and young amateurs were demonstrating their dexterity, speed and ability of trail orienteering by means of a map and a compass. Participants were travelling around the territory and surrounding areas of Feldman Ecopark trying to find 12 destinations, where parts of one puzzle were hidden. Those sportsmen, who succeeded and made a whole picture, were rewarded with honorary diplomas. According to organizers of such event, over 13 thousands of participants managed to reach the final and get a reward.
‘Healthy lifestyle and practical skills in trail orienteering – what can be better?’, Feldman Ecopark founder Oleksandr Feldman stated. ‘Sport orienteering is falsely forgotten kind of sport. It develops logics, thinking, trains to find solutions to unusual, and sometimes even very difficult situations. I am very happy that during the festival it became interesting for such a huge amount of people. We are not going to be satisfied with what has already been achieved and we will create first Ukrainian world-class Sport Orienteering Center’.
