Kharkiv needs a proper business plan for tourism development – Oleksandr Feldman

A people’s deputy of Ukraine, a co-chairperson of a political party ‘Nash Kray’ Oleksandr Feldman thinks that tourism development in Kharkiv region is one of the top and promising spheres of economic activity. This is what he told mass media today.
‘Tourism and the relating service industry in many countries are the most important areas of economy, which tends to replenish budget and create work places. This area of business is very common for our country, region and city. Especially now, at the time of decline in manufacturing output’, Oleksandr Feldman told.
The people’s deputy emphasizes that closeness to the anti-terror operation area and frequent extremism actions scare off potential visitors of Kharkiv, as well as investors. In addition to the above, he is sure that the situation will change for the better soon, the region will have peaceful and calm life with the growing economy.
‘The beauty of Kharkiv region, the first capital is obvious to tourists – picturesque nature, rich history, and interesting architecture. And what is more, people living in Kharkiv are welcoming and tolerant. It may be no accident that numerous football fans from Germany, Netherlands and many other countries have the fondest memories after visiting our city during ‘Euro-2012’, a member of parliament mentioned.
According to Oleksandr Feldman, the most important thing is a proper creation of a business plan for the tourism industry. It must include development of service industry, work on refurbishment of architectural and historical monuments, and also take into account innovations and experience of other cities and countries.
‘Kharkiv is the first capital of Ukraine and it has as many reasons to be proud as, for example, Kyiv, Lviv or Odessa. It can surely become another tourist Mecca of Ukraine and the whole Eastern Europe. This means that it will be possible to raise investment, create new work places and guarantee financing of state-financed organizations’, a people’s deputy of Ukraine Oleksandr Feldman expressed his opinion.
He also mentioned that the city has potential for development of the region and the city, but it is necessary to have political freedom, competent management and support of the territorial community.
