Blue Tit Day took place in Feldman Ecopark

Last weekend in Feldman Ecopark was devoted to the issues, such as assistance to feathery friends that don’t fly away to warm territories for wintering, learned to make bird feeders and opened the “bird food court”.

The organizers told the participants of the festive informative programme for children and adults how to care for birds spending winter in our latitudes. Specifically, they explain how to correctly feed, how to create and place bird feeders.

The fascinating master class devoted to the Blue Tit Day was held by Pavlo Palianytsia. It has shown that the good bird feeder can be made of any improvised material, including a tray for eggs or sticks for ice cream, it is even possible to weave a wreath from a grapevine to which dried fruits and pieces of pork fat are hung up.

The special campaign timed to the Blue Tit Day took place on the Eco-Path where the Feldman Ecopark’s guests and employees equipped a food court – established bird feeders, which shouldn’t be empty during the whole cold season.

“The wintering birds experience hard times with the onset of late autumn. It’s harder and harder for them to find a forage, especially, when snow drops out. We are grateful to all who participated in our campaign. Throughout winter, we will keep an eye on the established bird feeders and are sure that our visitors will help us with it” — the organizers say.

Despite cool weather, the location with board games continued its work during the past weekend. Besides, unusual dog agility competitions took place in Theatre of Children and Animals. On Saturday, the quickness in overcoming obstacles was shown by dogs, and on Sunday – by goats.
