Elephant Day and Rhino Day took place in Feldman Ecopark

Last weekend, the Social and Humanitarian Multi Complex prepared for the visitors a festive programme devoted to the World Elephant Appreciation Day and the World Rhino Day which are celebrated on September 22. Children and adults not only had a good time, but also learned a lot of new and interesting about these largest land mammals.

Family teams of children and adults became the participants of an interactive lecture and a game programme with a quiz. While children collected images of elephants and rhinoceroses on a magnetboard as a puzzle, the adults learned the facts from life of these animals collected by the organizers in a special newsletter. Then two teams competed to see who has better applied the new information.
“Elephants and rhinoceroses are the largest land residents of our planet, but, despite this, their existence is under a threat and their future depends on us. Our campaign showed once again that the problem of animal protection exists everywhere, and we shouldn’t remain indifferent” — the organizers of the game programme tell.

Besides, another informative game devoted to elephants and rhinoceroses was called “believe it or not”. The game master asked questions, and the public tried to separate facts from fiction before turning to active thematic games. All participants of the Elephants and Rhinoceroses programme, children and adults, won prizes, memento souvenirs from Feldman Ecopark.
The World Elephant Appreciation Day is celebrated on September 22, at the initiative of the ecological organizations which thus have tried to draw attention of the world community to the problem of reduction of number of elephants in their natural habitat.

The World Wildlife Fund offered to celebrate the World Rhino Day on September 22 to show the distress of these animals whose number catastrophically decreases, in many respects because of illegal hunting.
