The specialists of the Centre for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” visited the village of Donets (Balaklia region, Kharkiv oblast).
The Centre’s team of catchers and veterinarians renders assistance to the village authorities in the introduction of the accepted programme of control of the number of stray animals with the help of humane methods based on the CSVR programme (capture, sterilization, rabies vaccination, return to natural habitat).
“We cooperate with the authorities of the village of Donets starting from this May, and this cooperation has already started to give positive results. And we are sincerely grateful to the village head Victor Vashchenko. Within the framework of the programme approved by the village council, the establishment of the Centre for animal sterilization and settlement has already been started here. We will continue to render consulting assistance for the establishment of this Centre, as well as the cooperation aimed at the introduction of humane methods of control of the number of stray animals,” the head of the Centre for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” Iryna Podvoiska told. “It is good that more and more cities and towns choose humane approaches in so difficult and important issue.”
During the visit, the specialists of the Good Home caught 16 asocial dogs. They were sterilized, vaccinated and provided with the special ID clip. Moreover, the specialists of the Centre held a meeting with local volunteer animal advocates in Donets who decided to establish a public animal protection organization. Good Home will render them the methodical assistance for the preparation of necessary documents and will help them to adjust the organization’s activities.
It should be noted that the Centre for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” provides assistance in the introduction of the CSVR programme in the range of towns in Kharkiv and other regions of Ukraine. The visits of the Centre’s specialists to Liubotyn, Lozova and Pervomaislyi are planned for the nearest future.
