The Family Week is held in Feldman Ecopark Centre for Psychosocial Rehabilitation on July 5-13. It is devoted to the Family Day, which is marked in Ukraine on July 8.
“Exactly in family, children learn the principles of interaction and decision making, the ways to get out of conflict situations, and then transfer them to the communication with other people. We consider that the support of positive microclimate in families is one of the most important conditions for the development of a strong generation,” the head of the Centre’s psychological service Tetiana Aliieva emphasized. “The Family Week format was selected because we wanted to attract different categories of families, which need psychoeducational programmes. First of all, the matter is in the vulnerable families and the families with children with special needs.”
It should be reminded that the programme of the previous weekend, July 7-8, was devoted to the work with children with special needs, in particular, with psychoneurological diseases: there were group lessons, lessons for kids and parents, and animal-assisted therapy. The specialists demonstrated to the parents how to correctly arrange children’s leisure, despite the objective difficulties, and, what is also very important, to enjoy the communication with them as well.
On July 5-12, Feldman Ecopark was attended by the children and their parents from Kharkiv’s centre of modular houses for IDPs from Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. “These children are deprived of one of the basic needs of each person – own home. That is why we help them to establish interpersonal relations and to restore interaction in families. We do this in game form,” the head of the Centre’s medical service Inna Vashkite told.
On July 13, the Social and Humanitarian Multi-Complex provides lessons for children from vulnerable families. “Our task is to create as much comfortable conditions for these families as possible by focusing on the interaction between children and parents, to demonstrate some new variants of interactions, which may give positive results,” Tetiana Aliieva noted.
