The first lesson with children from the Kharkiv modular town for IDPs from the Donetsk and Luhansk oblast took place in the Feldman Ecopark’s Centre of Psychological Rehabilitation within the “Ukraine in One Rhythm” project on July 5. The project’s launch to be held in conjunction with the Family Week in the Centre.
“Our first lesson was devoted to primary psychodiagnostics, we revealed personality characteristics of each child to set objectives of further psychocorrectional influence and specifics of assistance” — Tetiana Aliieva, the head of Feldman Ecopark’s Centre of Psychosocial Rehabilitation told.
Further the project participants about 60 people) will be divided into three groups and will have lessons in the Ecopark once a week. The first group consists of children with special needs. In their treatment, the emphasis will be placed on equine assisted therapy, which has a positive impact on locomotion system and recreative gymnastics as well.
The second group consists of children aged 3 – 6 years will attend animal therapy classes and methods conducive to the development of informative sphere as well.
The third group includes children aged 14-17 years having psychotraumatic experience, problems of personal formation and interpersonal relations within the family and society. Work with them will be focused on overcoming the psycho-traumatic memoirs, adapt to new living conditions. Except conducting social and psychological trainings, the specialists plan to involve these children in Ecopark’s life, to form social interaction, particularly the animal therapy. Besides, the advisory sessions for parents will be conducted in order to improve family interactions.
The transportation to Feldman Ecopark in day of training (on Thursdays) will be carried on the free company’s buses. Not only members of our groups, but also all residents of the modular town for IDPs can come for having family recreation and strengthening of a psychological microclimate.
It should be reminded that in 2016 the IDPs’ children living in the Kharkiv modular town took part in the “Let’s Take Children Away from Streets” programme, which Feldman Ecopark carries out together with the Main Administration of the National Police in Kharkiv oblast.
