Children from the town of Shchastia (Luhansk oblast), which is situated in the area of Joint Forces Operation, have visited Feldman Ecopark. The trip to the Social and Humanitarian Multi-Complex for 26 children from the regional boarding school, for the children from troubled and large families from the town of Shchastia was organized by the NGO “The Sister of Mercy.”
“For the third year running, we arrange a rest in Kharkiv for the children from the JFO area. We have visited Feldman Ecopark as well. This time, we were offered assistance in the organization of excursion for the children from the boarding school of the town of Shchastia. The workers of Feldman Ecopark arranged a very interesting and informative excursion, during which children were able not only to look at and know a lot of new things about animals, but also to know better some of the Ecopark’s residents. Children liked it very much,” the head of NGO “The Sister of Mercy” Yaryna Chahovets told.
In addition to the animal collection tour, the visitors from Luhansk oblast attended the Horse Complex during the excursion and the petting zoo, where they learned to feed and take care of its four-legged and feathered friends.
It should be reminded that the excursions for the residents of Donetsk and Luhansk oblast, who live in the JFO area (former ATO zone) are conducted in Feldman Ecopark on a regular basis. There is also the Centre for Psychosocial Rehabilitation, one of the main fields of activities of which is the provision of the assistance to IDPs and ATO veterans. The Centre’s programmes include “Let’s Restore the Life Together” (psychological rehabilitation for ATO veterans), “The War in the Eyes of Children” (psychological rehabilitation for the IDP children) and “Ukraine in One Rhythm” (psychological rehabilitation for the IDPs). More than 1,000 IDPs and more than 700 war veterans have already taken part in these programmes.
