The children’s health-improving and educational summer camp started its activity in Feldman Ecopark. According to preliminary calculations, during the summer season nearly 10,000 children will be able to have a rest here, to improve health, to contact with nature, to learn and to acquire additional knowledge absolutely free of charge. This year the camp that opens the doors for children, the fourth summer enjoys special popularity. Despite the increased number of sessions and groups, all places in the camp are already taken up until September!
“Actually, our children’s camp comprises several camps which work in parallel and have a bit different programme depending on specifics and needs of children. It is a city camp for the Kharkiv children; a regional camp focused primarily on children from the villages and settlements located near Ecopark; a camp for children with special needs in which pupils of childcare centres (our old partners) have a rest and improve health; a camp for pupils of Children’s Ecology and Nature Study Academy Feldman Ecopark and children of specialists of the Social and Humanitarian Multi- Complex” — the organizers tell.
The programme of week sessions is multifarious and aims to teach children of maximum new and interesting. Here they can recreate, improve health and get bright positive emotions. Every day something new and fascinating awaits them. These are various excursions, acquaintance with different species of Ecopark’s unique animals, an opportunity to feed some animals with own hands, to get acquainted with them closer and to take care of them, horse riding, acquaintance with different types of equestrian sport, Pony Farm, Kind Donkey farm, Club of Young Cynologists, Rabbit Farm, Forest school, interesting master classes in the City of Masters, sports, bouncy castle and adventure park, strolls around the most picturesque places and walking tours. Moreover, songs and dances, entertainment programmes with animators, quests and competitions, an opportunity to join art in the Theatre of Children and Animals, tasty lunches, concerts, flash mobs and photoshoots.
In the summer camp young naturalists of Feldman Ecopark will be able to deepen the knowledge and to refine skills in their profile directions, while children with special needs will be able to use the unique techniques (eco-therapy, animal-assisted therapy, in particular, equine-assisted and canine therapy, etc.) developed by the specialists of the Centre of Psychosocial Rehabilitation.
It should be reminded that the summer camp works in Feldman Ecopark since 2015. Last summer the camp had 22 sessions: more than 5,000 children aged 8-14 from Kharkiv and surrounding districts recreated here. The rest in camp, all occupations and nutrition for children are free of charge thanks to assistance of the International Charitable Foundation “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation”.
