The Social and Humanitarian Complex invites everyone to join the event.
The festive release of pheasants will take place in Feldman Ecopark on Sunday, April 15. Nearly a thousand of these big forest steppe birds, which have already become an important part of Ukraine’s eco-system, will be released back in nature – the forest area of Ecopark, where they are able to stay far from people and spread out across the different regions of Kharkiv oblast. The event will take place within the framework of the programme Centre for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Good Home.”
“The common pheasant is a bird from Asia. But they were introduced in Ukraine long time ago and got acclimatized here. Pheasant is a quite widespread bird, which is not under the threat of extinction. However, as the result of poaching, their number reduces,” Feldman Ecopark’s deputy director of zootechnics Valeriia Ivashchenko said. “It is the most proper time to release pheasants – they will soon make couples and have nestlings.”
Ecopark is going to release pheasants, which appeared here in different ways. The part of them was rescued by caring people, as they had injuries from the attacks of predators or made by hunters. They were brought to Feldman Ecopark for rehabilitation.
It is already the second release of pheasants in Feldman Ecopark. The first one took place last year. The release will take place near the Horse Complex approximately at noon. Everyone is invited to take part in the event!
It should be reminded that everyone who got used to attend the release of bats are invited to the Social and Humanitarian Complex a day earlier – on Saturday, at 7 p.m.
It should be also reminded that last Sunday, April 8, the Social and Humanitarian Complex held the traditional spring release of birds. The record number of birds rescued from poachers were released back in nature – more than 1,200 siskins, common redpolls, forest canaries and other birds.
