Painting Without Borders – anniversary exhibition of Kostiantyn Savchenko in AVEC Gallery

An opening of the anniversary exhibition of Kharkiv’s famous artist Kostiantyn Savchenko will take place in the AVEC Gallery on December 21 (it starts at 5.30 p.m.) On January 9, 2018, he will be 50. 35 pictorial works created by the author during the last few years will bring a New Year holiday spirit to the visitors. Winter forest and snow-covered fields, romantic Venice and dear Kharkiv, sunny irises and hot sunflowers – Painting Without Borders is the exhibition with the title that speaks for itself.

Kostiantyn Yuriiovych Savchenko was born in the family of a famous Ukrainian artist Yurii Hryhorovych Savchenko. He adopted his father’s expression and recognizable jerky pictorial hand. As for the rest features, he developed quite independently finding own theme and recognizable colour pattern. In 1987, he graduated from Kharkiv State School of Art. In 1994, he graduated from Kharkiv Institute of Arts and Industry (the department of graphics). Starting from 1999, he is a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Academician of Painting. In 2007, he was recognized as an Honoured Artist of Ukraine. Since 2011, he is a director of Kharkiv State School of Art. A lot of personal exhibitions took place in Kyiv, Berlin, Zagreb, Detroit, Chicago, Jersey, Toronto, Moscow, Saint Petersburg and other cities all over the world during the last 25 years. The works by Kostiantyn Savchenko adorn many private collections in Ukraine, the USA, France, Israel, Russia, England, Japan, Germany, Italy, Canada, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, and Turkey.

According to arts critics, the optimistic world view is typical of Kostiantyn Savchenko, as well as the preference for warm colours and the creative dynamics that draws themes from various displays of life. Each of his canvases is a representation of perfect unity of colour, motif, and mood. Everyone is able to find evidences for this by attending the AVEC Gallery (70, Sumska Str.) from December 21, 2017 till the end of January 2018. The Painting Without Borders exhibition will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. without breaks and weekends. The entrance is free!
