In Feldman Eсopark celebrated Defender of Ukraine Day

The unique spirit of glorious heroic times was recreated in the Regional Landscape Park where on the past weekend, on October 14-16, celebrated the Defender of Ukraine Day and the Intercession of the Theotokos – the principal Cossack holiday.

These days the visitors were met by Cossack men and women with a hetman at the helm allowing taking photos with them to the strains of live music.

The sports and game programme “Cossacks Never Say Die!” for children and adults was held for those who want to try force and dexterity, including sack battles, tug-of-war, weight lifting, eating of pirogies and many other things. The participants of “Cossack glory” quiz competed, demonstrated their knowledge in the Cossack’s era, the heroic past of the native land and country.

A historical quest “Hetman’s Treasures” became the central event of the Feldman Ecopark’s holidays. The teams competing for a rank of the best, navigating by ancient map, traveled from location to location. There, taking part in cheerful and entertaining competitions, the participants demonstrated both dashing Cossack daring, and deep knowledge in historical events of that romantic era, cultural heritage, life and customs of the Ukrainian Cossacks. The winners were awarded with special certificates and prizes from Feldman Ecopark.

The most memorable point was the performance of participants of the Cossack school group “Arii” which brought a mini-exhibition of the Cossack weapon and showed traditional art of handling.

Besides, the festive programme was enriched with the stage performance by the Theatre of Children and Animals “The Pearl of Ukraine.”
Various master classes in folk ornamental modeling and plaiting decorative arts were conducted for those who prefer to spend leisure-time, doing something by the hands.

All activities took place on a fabulous background of the unique Chrysanthemum Ball which continues in Feldman Ecopark.
